Terms of Service

1. The Service

openchair (the "Service") is a community-based research platform that studies reclined working environments and publishes the results as open, standardised designs. It provides research notes (lab notes), members' posts and comments, and related videos. Reading requires no account; posting and commenting require signing in.

2. Accounts

• Sign-in is available only through a Google account. If you have a YouTube channel it is linked to your profile. This Service uses YouTube API Services; by signing in you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
• Your account is for your own use. Do not impersonate others or create accounts by automated means.
• You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service.
• You can request account deletion at support@openchair.tech.

3. Your content

• You keep the copyright in the posts and comments you write.
• You grant the Service a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display and distribute your content within the Service, and to copy or adapt it as needed to operate the Service (for example search indexing and share previews). The licence ends when you delete the content, except that a comment with replies may remain visible as "comment deleted" to keep the thread intact.
• Post only what you have the right to post. Third-party works, personal data and videos may be posted only with the rights holder's permission.
• The Service's research notes and published designs are covered by the licence stated on each item. Where none is stated, copyright remains with the operator.

4. Prohibited conduct

• Spam, advertising, repetitive posting or automated bulk posting.
• Hate, harassment, threats, or content that infringes others' rights.
• Distributing malware, exploiting vulnerabilities, or accessing the Service in unintended ways.
• Impersonating the Service or any third party.
• Violating applicable law or the YouTube Terms of Service.

5. Moderation

The operator may hide or remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice, and may restrict accounts for repeated or serious violations. You can contest a decision by writing to the contact address.

6. Research disclaimer (important)

Material on the Service about ergonomics, posture, angles and health is a record of research in progress and of hypotheses. It is not medical advice and does not replace diagnosis or treatment. Many items are explicitly marked as not yet verified by measurement. If you have concerns about your spine, intraocular pressure, intracranial pressure or any other condition, consult a medical professional. Decisions and actions you take based on the Service are your own responsibility.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

• The Service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or the accuracy or completeness of any information.
• To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or special damages arising from use of the Service. This does not exclude liability for the operator's intent or gross negligence.
• The Service is free of charge. Any paid offering will be governed by separate terms.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on Google / YouTube (sign-in, channel data, video embeds) and Cloudflare (hosting). The operator is not responsible for outages or policy changes of those providers. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date; material changes are announced within the Service. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the courts with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
